Its 8am on a Sunday. This is not usually a writing day for me. By this time, my weekly Substack is usually scheduled and ready to land in my lovely subscriber’s inbox bright and early on Monday morning.
However, tomorrow is my 32nd birthday. Although I’m not one for large celebrations, I had planned to give myself this upload off.
But then a whisper of an idea entered my mind. And I found I couldn’t shake it.
I started reflecting on what I have learnt and thought it would be fun to share this with you.
So, in no particular order, here are 32 lessons for 32 years….
Kindness is a sign of strength, not weakness
How to put kirby grips in the right way
Clothes should be comfortable
I can do life alone, but its sometimes nicer to have company
Nature is my lifeblood
Its ok to escape into stories. In fact, it should be encouraged
How to reverse parallel park. And why I should never do it again
To recognise and respect my menstrual cycle
How to make soup like my Granny
Why I should exercise for my health, not for an image
That I should never cut in a fringe
How to thrive in each season
How to write from the heart
Food is the best kind of medicine
How to say no. And really mean it
That alcohol doesn’t add anything to my life
To notice quiet beauty
Why the conventional 9-5 lifestyle will never work for me
Heartbreak is temporary, but grief can last forever
I think best whilst walking
That its ok to not want children, but still coo over tiny booties
To treasure memories over things
Its ok not to have a plan
I will always have more mugs than are strictly necessary
To embrace and celebrate a rainy day
Social media is unnecessary and my life is better without it
That I’m a romantic yet fiercely independent
If a relationship is right, then it will be easy
I’m a frequent crier, but know I can handle anything
To welcome change. And routine
That I will make some poor decisions, but regret nothing
That life can be a wonderland. If you choose to see it that way
Until next time,
Molly xx

Happy Birthday Molly. I loved your comments about what we learn as each year passes. I am 77 years old and still possess more mugs than is sensible but I just can’t resist them! I always really enjoy your vlogs on Sunday evening. Enjoy your special day. Love to Skye 🥰.
Many happy ones Molly , I'm also 77 but can empathise with your thoughts. Look back when you are 77 and have no regrets, though I have a few but as Frank Sinatra said, "I did it my way". Have a good day and have a good life, it may not come again.
