Great tips Molly! Reaching a desired state of minimalism can be a multi-step process, but it’s also a meaningful, entirely personal journey.

Fantastic article, thank you ❤️. It's very true how easy it is to get sucked into the "rules" isn't it. I will always adopt a what is best for me policy. I adore your YouTube channel as you keep things real and don't get caught up with the only having so many items etc . I've been on my own journey and am finding just how little I need, but I still enjoy those chosen items that bring me joy. Sending love to you xxxx

Hi Mollie, plants are my exception. Odd thing that I am though, I prefer plants that look tidy. I'm still trying to understand this side of me 😊 xx

Hello Molly, when I started my minimalist journey I did look to YouTube for direction and help. I now do my own thing. What brings me joy is having a clean, organized and clutter free home. There is also emotional clutter which I'm working on.💚

Good summary. We are past our acquisition phase, and we are in the decluttering phase. Our minimization relates to your fine “what-other-people-think” essay, and we are finding that function and fit, at least in clothing, must precede all else. We are sending lots to GoodWill and Re-Store. After getting screwed by EBay on one sale, we are no longer into selling to declutter. Thanks for addressing this topic.

My joy exceptions are jewellery (such a magpie) and books. ❤️I always need to have a few books I’m excited to read on my bookshelf so this is the area that needs decluttering and adding to quite regularly. However I have found the library has helped me keep more minimal in this area! Thank you for a lovely post, such a great reminder that there isn’t a one size fits all ☺️

Thank you Rachael! I can relate with books, but borrowing from the library is a great option :)
