Great article! I really like the recommendation of making a portfolio of seasonal walks. Where I live in Norway, the winter is really long with lots of snow. And since I don't like cross country skiing that much, it can be difficult to find good walks in the winter months (which is six months of the year...) But I'm thinking of buying snowshoes next year, so that I can make some trails for myself in the forest 😊
I'm not sure if you've heard of the idea of our bodies also following the rhythms of the seasons and moon. I first heard about it from author Kate Northrup. You can read about it in her book, Do Less. It's truly a fascinating way to live according to the energy we have each day, based on the moon and our bodies. I think you would really enjoy it too.
Beautiful dog! My energy peaks more in Winter especially snow days and stary nights. I write about seasons and nature quite a bit in my publication just published an article today on Spring
I'm noticing and welcoming the first signs of spring with the first signs of warm days. There are tiny buds emerging on the tree canopy around my little deck, which will slowly turn to shady branches. This year, the deck boards will need a bit of repair where last winter's ice chunks fell from the roof and damaged them. I look forward to this project. I'm starting to think about cleaning out last year's garden containers, and arranging this spot as a place to experience the surroundings as well as relax and read.
I love the idea of having a list of walks! We like to enjoy certain walks near us at certain times because they’re much quieter and we can spend longer there without overwhelm. I’m going to make a list in my notes app on my phone so I always have it handy! Thanks for the tip 😊
I’d never considered reading for the season but you’re right Molly, it makes perfect sense. It has suddenly become very cold here in Australia and I am reading a novel called Devotion by Hannah Kent. It’s about a persecuted religious community that left Germany in the 19th century to settle in South Australia (the only state not to have convict settlements). It suits this chilly weather perfectly and is beautifully written.

It just makes the experience or reading that bit more beautiful I think :)
Same. My life also changes. I really enjoy seasons even if the super hot days are hard. I love it.
Me too! :)
