Great tips! I write more and better after coming back from walks in nature. Nature really helps us recharge. And I think one of the most important things like you have mentioned is to be kind to oneself.

This is so helpful, Molly! One of my favourite things to do when it comes to my writing is brainstorm the titles of my articles – I keep a list on my phone of ideas so I've always got a few points of inspiration. I find it's such an easy way into writing once I know what my title is going to be 😊

Great post. Love “I’ve learnt that, rather than punishing myself for having a few days, or weeks, off from writing, its far more productive to just let it be, and know that I will always come back to it eventually.”

Thank you Molly, lots of interesting ideas on how to get motivated. Understanding why you write is something I hadn't thought was so important but I can see now that it is, thank you! I am writing for 5 minutes each day which ended up being a page a day. It was at first about my walks and now there is a bit of journaling about my paintings. I have noticed by doing this daily practice that I tend to use the same word to describe something and actually use that word up to three times on a page! Um will need to work on that!

It sounds like you are building a wonderful writing habit! I can fall into that trap and often have to Google alternatives to a word if it crops up too much!

Molly, I'm really enjoying your writing so far, and I wanted to thank you for the SkillShare free trial. I took advantage of your link and I just paused Roxanne Gay's essay writing class to come back here and make sure I told you how much I appreciate it! I can already tell that these classes are going to be an enormous help to me.

Love these tips! I've been switching up the way I organize ideas over the years, but your Notion template looks lovely.
