Hi Molly thanks for sharing your Autumn favorites. We also love Autumn so much that we got married in October 19 years ago. We live in Ohio USA and we have our favorite place we like to go to every year. Hocking Hills, Logan, Ohio to do some hiking and nature walks. Winter is our second favorite season.
We also love the Gilmore Girls.
We enjoy have soups, tea, and hot chocolate.
I'm subscribed to Madeline Olivia and she has some amazing recipes.
It still feels like summer where I live (Germany), but your post definitely wants me to get all the autumn vibes now! I am a big nature writing fan, so thank you for the book recommendation (Crumley - The Nature of Autumn). During autumn I like to decorate my flat with fallen leaves, pumpkins and fallen chestnuts. I just love to bring the colours of autumn into my flat :) Also, it's budget-friendly and I don't clutter my home with more useless made-in-china-decoration! Reading, armchair-appointments, wool jumpers and lots of tea are also on my autumn schedule, of course. And - last but not least - nothing beats the smell of freshly baked pumpkin cake while watching the rain falling on the leaves-filled pavements and night lit streets. Thank you for making me looking forward to the next months and see you next week in my E-Mail-Inbox!
I love fall, but summer is my favorite here in the woods of Wisconsin, USA. I so enjoyed your post about the rituals and coziness of fall. Every year I pick a word to represent how I want to be, what I want to do - as a sort of direction. This year it's Magical, so it was fun to see you use it in your post. But for next year I am debating between Ritual and Rhythm...using it more so to adjust my year to the rituals and rhythms that are all around us from the Earth, history, holidays, etc. Reading your post felt just perfect and endears me more to those words I am thinking of. I especially love the idea of reading books that go with each season as I am a huge book reader!
Such a cosy post 🍁 I love it! I love autumn so so much and I can’t wait to wear my big jumpers. I am lucky to have my parents who both knit and I have amazing handmade wool jumper, cardigan and socks in my wardrobe 🧦🍂 I will read the book you mention of Jim Crumley, it seems so cosy and nice ☺️
Autumn is my favourite season too, but I’m at the bottom of the world (Tasmania Australia) so heading into spring right now. As usual here last week it was T-shirt weather, today we have snow forecast and roads in the highlands are closed, also wind that would blow the sugar out of your tea. Spring is my least favourite season.
I loved your video Molly. I had missed that one. I am very much older than you, and although Scottish, have lived in midtown Toronto all of my adult life. Although our lifestyles are obviously very different I too am attempting to live a more simpler life with a lot less possessions. Now retired and downsized to a small apartment, I need less clothes and they can be pretty basic too. I am only beginning to convert to sustainable fashion and found your trip through your wardrobe very helpful in determining what I need for everyday living. And of course it will be very helpful when I travel home to Scotland next year for a vacation. Covid has prevented me from travelling, and can’t wait to come home to visit family and a country that still makes my heart sing!

How interesting! We are very like that in our spring in the Scottish Highlands, with lots of changeable weather!
