How lovely to read this love letter to yourself Molly. You are so right that we should ignore outside pressure to be someone we are not…..we are who we are. I’m now 77 years old and don’t look like I did when I was 27, but each year has brought great happiness, sadness and life experiences that I am so grateful for. My body shape isn’t the same as it was but everything still works, so that’s okay. Love to you and hugs to Skye.

It is important to be content with who we are. Content might sound a small word but it does mean a great deal. I think you must be very brave to be on youtube, a woman who was running her own channel about her and her family living in France was simply shocked at the awful comments people were making about her appearances! we the general public don't see them as they are filtered out, but I do remember seeing an intelligent grown woman on youtube facing for what must have been the first time lots of comments about how she looked. There are always negative people who seem to take some small pleasure in making hurtful comments to others. Since then I have had such a lot of respect for what you and others do for us in trying to make this a better world in helping us to see the beauty in the everyday world of nature and simple living. We are enough! there is indeed joy in saying that we are happy with who we are and how we look. Thank you Molly for this insightful post today.

I agree that feeling content is very important and can be so powerful. And thankfully the nasty comments are drowned out but the many wonderful ones :)

There's nowt wrong with you lass as we say it in Yorkshire. Was it not Hugh Miller from your Country that said , " A man who is truly satisfied with life is the richest man in the world". Well it goes for a woman as well. Why do so many unhappy people always want more and not be satisfied with who they are and what they've got? I'm not rich or ever likely to be but content to live within my means and cannot be bothered to try to blame anyone else for it. I'm satisfied with life with a hell of a lot more unsavoury features than you will ever have. MORE STRENGTH TO YOU ELBOW.

What a wonderful letter to yourself! I need to write one for me too. I don’t fit the typical idea of beauty, but I know in my heart that I am beautiful.

Thank you for your encouragement and I’m going to follow your lead!

as james joyce wrote: "Mr. Duffy lived a short distance from his body". Molly's love letter to herself reminds us that we can inhabit ourselves fully and truly feel how okay we are. no apologies necessary for living authentically. thank you, molly.

This is so lovely to read. We often feel uncomfortable thinking what the society perceives as our imperfections whereas we are often totally comfortable with it until someone points it out to us. It is important to be happy with the way we are.
