A lovely story of helping the ducklings..it feels so good when you know you’ve made a difference to helping the wildlife. I make sure there’s fresh water and food out for the hedgehog and birds everyday. 🙏💜
I loved your story. I recently saved a duckling as well. A mother Wood duck with 16 ducklings seemed trapped in our backyard. She didn't understand she could easily have taken her flock up a small hill to grass, but instead went back and forth on hot gravel. Those ducklings had to be exhausted so I just had to do something. My neighbor and I tried to encourage them up the hill, but they all separated and you are definitely right, they are fast! One went completely in the opposite direction, so I finally caught that one and tramped through the woods back and forth listening for the mother. We finally caught up with her and allowed the baby a huge jump down to the tiny stream below. Thank goodness everyone seemed back together and in water where they all belonged!
Absolutely lovely! I can just picture you, wet/muddy/triumphant, with the treasure you brought home. Blessings on you for saving her. I've been saving turtles lately, as they attempt to cross roadways. Three in one week. It's such a great feeling to save a life, isn't it?
what a beautiful, heart warming story! I live in an urban sprawl on the outskirts of Stirling and I would give absolutely anything to be able to experience this. I am just beginning to work my way through your content on here, so forgive me if you already have posted content on this - but is there anyway you can share maybe some hints and tips about what we can do on a daily basis to help wildlife conservation from our homes? just wee small tips, such as what i can plant in my garden, or things I can do to help? Thanks xx
I thought I asked just for clarity sake. You mentioned the 1st duckling happening. You said that was in late June and then several weeks later. It's currently July3rd. The timeline is confusing here
