I’ve always loved stories. As a child, reading books was my favourite pastime. That, and having my own adventures rambling in nature, with our many animals in tow. I often combined both and would go hunting for the perfect tree in which to sit and become absorbed in another world.
Not much has changed. After a brief hiatus in early adulthood, with University and all the excitement that came with this as a distraction, I am now reading more than ever.
In 2020, I decided to start sharing my own story. I took the plunge and published my first blog post in my new guise as Hippy Highland Living.
To my surprise, I found that people not only read my work but seemed to like it. I felt that first rush of creativity and connection. It was wonderful.
Since this point, I have been exploring different types of content to share my story. However, writing was always my first love and is something that I see myself continuing in the long term.
My writing is when I am at my most vulnerable. Although this can feel scary at times, it leads to deeper connection with my community. In a world full of shallow connections and the drive for instant gratification, this is special and something that I am determined to nourish.
Hence, Simple Scottish Stories being my new corner of the internet to share my stories. Committing to writing weekly is a big step, but I know that I will get so much value out of it and a truly hope you do too.
This space will allow me to share some more personal reflective content, including some guides if you are wanting to live more simply or build your own creative business. I will share and review some resources that have been enjoying (expect plenty of books!) and you will be the first to hear about all my announcements and upcoming content.
To give you a taster of what this content will look like, I have created a brand new Blogging Toolkit, exclusively for my subscribers. This will provide you with my 8 blogging prompts and templates for blog content planning, blog post writing and a checklist to tasks before you publish. Click the PDF below to access.
Make sure to keep an eye on your emails next week, as I will be announcing a new shift in my business that may come as a big surprise…
Finally, I want to thank you. Your support means everything to me. Whether you have been with me from my early blog days or are new to my Hippy Highland world, you are so welcome, and I really hope you continue to find value in my stories.
Love
