I read the midnight library last year and I really enjoyed it!
About Jenny colgan, I just finished The Christmas bookshop, it was a cosy and comforting book, I loved the characters and of course the book shop! I read last year the other one you mentioned in the list but it has a different title (the bookshop on the corner 🙄 don't know why the book is the same but the title is different!)
I have to say Jenny colgan's book are good for cozing up and enjoy something light 😊
Two of the books I definitely loved this year are Elif Shafak's The island of missing trees it takes place in Cyprus and UK, telling the story of the island and the people living there dispites of their cultural differences and the war that came later and through the love story of a family and a fig tree.
The other one is the reading list of Sarah Nisha Adams, tells the story of a friendship of 2 very different people and the power the books have in their lives. It's both heartwarming and sad, some things happening in the book are dramatic but I really enjoyed it.
I love to read and I love to listen to audible books while I do housework or drive around doing errands. Jenny Colgan is my favorite cozy author. I’ve read everything she’s written so far. I tend to get on a series and read them all. I’m reading the 3 Pines series by Louise Penny right now, which I love. I also loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, a favorite of mine too. If I must choose, then my favorite novel this year was Lessons in Chemistry. On a side note, was nice to read a quick little novel with a vegan protagonist called Marrying Myself by Crissy Benson. There is always so much animal eating in so many stories having a positive vegan in a story was awesome. In 2024 I’m looking forward to reading The Salt Path and Landlines per your recommendation. Thank you.
I love your writing and your YouTube channel. It’s my favorite these days! I also strive for a slow life and enjoy learning about yours!
I am a big Elin Hilderbrand fan and I wanted to correct one mistake that you made. Her book, Summer People, like all of her books, takes place on a very real island, Nantucket, off the coast of Massachusetts. 😊
Thanks for the list! I'm definitely adding those to my to-read list. I get sucked down a rabbit hole when looking for a new book on my kindle and then get so annoyed I wasted my reading time! I am on a Jenny Colgan kick now. I'm intrigued to know if you have read Outlander??? They are quite intense but, oh my, I just can't get enough. I had to actually make myself stop reading after I read all 8 (now 9) books in the series 3 times in a row!!!! Love your content! Have a super cozy holiday and new year!
I’ve read all three non-fiction books that you’ve listed. As I want to get back into fiction this makes me trust your other recommendations even more than I’d already would ☺️ I’m excited to dive in!
Lovely list, thank you. I love reading books about long walks. One of my favourites in this genre is Seaside Donkey: A Wayward Walk Around Wales by Hannah Engelkamp.
Question: Is it important to read The Salt Path first, or is Landlines a standalone book?
Oh thank you so much for this list. I myself did alot of reading more this year than the last or before that. I'm currently reading The salt path and would add the rest to my TBR for 2024.
Ohh I really have to honor my reading time again. I haven’t been reading like I wanted to, just snippets here and there, but I’m determined to pick it up again. I’ll explore your list properly as I haven’t heard of most of the books you’ve read. But! I do love Jenny Colgan and have to read more books from her. 😊
Some great choices there. This year I’ve discovered Nicola Upson and really admire the work in weaving real life and fiction together in these Josephine Tay mystery novels. Another fabulous read for me was Broken Light by Joanne Harris.

I'm so glad you enjoy! Ah thanks for letting me know, I thought I read that it was fictional in her author note, but clearly wrong! :)

I'm glad you found this useful! I've not read Outlander yet but I would like to!
i'd like to add:
the lost garden, helen humphreys
the very secret society of irregular witches, sangu mandanna
where the forest meets the stars, glendy vanderah
other birds, sarah addison allen
They all sound wonderful, thank you!
thank YOU, molly, for all your reading inspiration. reading is my favorite thing to do (along with being outdoors in the woods, of course)!

Thank you for adding a few more books to my list for 2024.
Lovely, thank you for sharing! :)
Sunday evenings wouldn’t be the same without your You Tube channel and I love your writings.
I am retired now so my life in theory should be slower. Sometimes I wonder how I had time to work though.
Wishing you a very peaceful holiday time. 🎄xx
Thank you lovely :)

It would probably make the most sense to read The Salt Path first, if you can! Both are wonderful :)
Oh thank you so much for this list. I myself did alot of reading more this year than the last or before that. I'm currently reading The salt path and would add the rest to my TBR for 2024.
You are welcome! I hope you enjoy The Salt Path! :)
Thank you, will follow up a few of your suggestions! Have a lovely Christmas break x
Thank you, you too! :)

I recently read The Salt Path and loved it - sounds like II must get hold of Land Lines too!
What a great year, Molly! I love learning more about people's reading routines, too, so thanks for sharing!
52 books! Amazing!! ✨🫖
Thanks Claire! :)
