I really love baking but sometimes I find myself making the same thing over and over again. When this happens I turn to some historical recipes I own which are so different from the cakes I usually make. Some are from the Elizabethan era, such as Naughty Cake. I'm yet to cook Farts of Portingale though, as they contain meat!
Really great ways to nourish the creative self. I really value allowing myself time to properly day dream - it's one of my favourite things to do! Not only is it super peaceful, I always find the best ideas for writing pop up in these simple moments. My mind always feels so calm and clear after a good day dream :-)
Hi Molly .. just wanted to share that my visits to your offerings may be sporadic (in my effort to be still and unattached to the outside world chatter) but are intentional. your quiet thoughts and reflections about your intentional life style feed my needs in those moments and I am grateful to have you in my life my distant friend🦋
Ahh, I love these ideas Molly! A hard agree to "making with your hands" - I try and do this as often as I can when I'm feeling a little detached from things
Some great ideas Molly. I recently dusted off my sewing machine (last used during that lockdown summer) & been making some fun & cheerful scrunchies. When I’m making something I find my brain can’t wonder off other that think about the task in hand & I’m not doom scrolling either. Win win!
Such useful ideas Molly! I catch a bus and walk to/from work each day and I find myself observing people and wondering about their lives. I think I might take up your idea of writing about them 😊

I love this, such a good idea!
Love all the ideas :-) Writing poems by hand and with watercolor always puts me in the right mood. Thanks for sharing these!

I love this! Thank you for sharing.
I loved this post. Very inspiring. I decided to start book blogging again. I’ve always enjoyed writing book reviews and talking about books.

Sewing is a wonderful idea!
As a creative, I could not agree with you more on these ideas, Molly! Observation and learning new things are key!

Thank you and have a great creative week !
Thanks Molly, I needed to take a deep breath this Monday morning and read this!
I’ve definitely felt that creative drought before, and the “don’t try” advice is so freeing. Thank you for this beautiful list!!
Thank you Molly. I really needed to hear this. I've felt stuck.
