You are so inspiring. I am 64 and have been vegan for 4 years prior to which I was vegetarian for over 10 years. I’ve also made choices in the past that are different to the norm. However I wish I’d had your self belief when I was your age as being different (not wanting to follow the crowd) would have been a whole lot easier. I understand it’s taken time to get where you are. Thank you. Keep being you. I love your vlogs and newsletters.
As a therapist by trade you’ve made me really smile. It’s so beautiful to get to a place where you are in tune with your own intuition and are still able to acknowledge that going down your own path will have those uncomfortable moments. It’s a really brave thing to do and as you share in this post, vulnerable and rewarding in equal measure 👏🏼
I really love this post! You inspire me so much! I still care too much about what others can think of me and sometimes it’s exhausting... I hope one day I will do my life in a more peaceful way. Like you I am vegan, have a more minimalist lifestyle than others, eat organic, don’t drink, don’t want kids and spend a lot of time alone and in a quiet places. I don’t like party even if I am 31. I can see that I am different but I think I’ll accept that much better than better, it’s a work in progress ☺️
Very well said Molly! We must live our own lives and not be taken in by others trying to dictate to us. I've been different all my life and now in my mid 50s I really don't care what others think, they can take me or leave me it's there choice but I'm not changing for anyone 😊
thanks for this, you have made some really helpful points, especially about knowing your why and guarding it closely but not feeling the need to justify or explain. I too, have found that just getting on a living my life has influenced those around in ways I never expected.
Great read! I couldn't help but think of my family as I was reading it, because, according to them, I'm a "tree-hugging freak" (or whatever else they can come up with). I gave up caring a while ago, because I finally learned and accepted they will never understand me, and I learned to be okay with that. Finally getting to that point gave me such a sense of freedom! Wish I would have learned that lesson a long time ago, though! :)
Hey...if I'm ever in Scotland again, I'd love to grab a cup of coffee or tea with you and chat. :)
Hi Molly thank you so much your thoughts on living a different lifestyle then the normal. You're so inspiring. I've been an vegan and minimalist for 5 years. My husband is not vegan. When I first became vegan I didn't want any animal products in the house at all. He has supported me with my veganism. At home he ate what I did. But when we ate out he would order chicken or fish.I have realized that this his home also and it wasn't fair to him so now he buys eggs, tuna, and cheese. I'm ok with that and so his he. We are there for each other.💚

Thank you for your comment Cathy! I have a similar situation with my partner as he's not vegan. It can be difficult to negotiate but not impossible :)
