I understand totally, I am in the same process right now. I struggle so much to understand what I wear for myself and what I wear for the society… same for the makeup… I feel like if I don’t wear makeup I am not worthy and I hate this feeling. I am lost with all the false ideas I have in my mind and in the same time I really want to fit in. I discovered your channel and your blog few weeks ago and I really love them. You are such a beautiful soul. It helps me to see that there are people in the world who try to be free and live differently 🌿🤍

I can completely empathize with this. Its an unfair pressure for women and I really hope you can build a wardrobe that brings you joy :)

Your English is wonderful and thank you so much for your support!

Haha...love the bit where you say your partner doesn't get it. I get that with my partner all the time. He calls them my hippie outfits :)

Also, thank you for sharing your wardrobe. I've definitely taken a slower approach to my wardrobe in the last year and gotten a lot pickier with what I buy. So definitely picked up a few new brands to check out. Oh, and your own T's are lovely. May just have to add it to my list ;)

Hi Molly! I really enjoyed this. Thank you! ❤️I’m a boots and scarf person. I’ve realised that if something can’t be worn with walking boots then it’s probably not going to get much wear in my wardrobe. However, I love lipstick and jewellery and big bright scarves. I really enjoyed your video to see a real ‘working’ capsule. So many on YouTube are beautiful, but not at all in line with how I live my life so I felt really inspired by yours! 👏🏼Rachael x

Well said, there is too much waste in fashion. I managed to get a lovely Phase Eight skirt for £5 in a charity shop 😊

Molly I'm 72 years old and retired so my wardrobe is very simple. I'm mostly a jean woman. I have tshirts, a few jumpers, ,2 coats, 3 pairs of shoes, 1 pair of snow boots and 1 pair of slippers.

I don't own any dresses or skirts. At this age I really don't care what other people think. I feel that everyone has their own style.🙂💚

Lovely article. Well composed, compelling content. Impressed with your video description and choices. Classic, simple, and comfortable are intelligent economic choices. Buy once; wear often. Your clothing minimalism is good advice to men and women, though women seem to have more fashion-related tension. You graduated from your accumulation period earlier in life. l salute your actions mitigating fashion congruence pressures. Function, form, and fit come first!

Hi Molly,

Very well written, I completely agree that we should never conform to following what companies say we should be wearing, being our own self is what makes us beautiful and individual! I'm in my mid fifties and have been buying from charity shops since my teens, I've had some amazing finds. I love your channel its refreshing and your so real and a genuine person.

Take care, Suzanne xx

Beautifully written. I completely understand the societal expectations over clothes etc. As a woman in her early 50's we get told not to go around as mutton dressed as lamb or not to be too dowdy and frumpy! Thankfully I dress to please me. Simple, timeless and sustainable as I possibly can and am finding littles gems in charity shops. I watched your recent YouTube video (love, love, love your channel ❤️) and it definitely resonates with me. You keep things real and you are being true to yourself, a rare find and such a blessing to connect with you through your channel and now here xxx

I too am a woman in my early 50s still figuring out what works for my body, comfort level and lifestyle. I've done a minimal wardrobe now for a couple of years and find it so effective. I was never a clothes horse and would usually buy under pressure. Now I only buy when I need something.

I feel your dilemma with being a wedding guest. I had one wedding this summer and another this long weekend. The pressure to buy a dress was overwhelming. I don't ever wear dresses, no need for my lifestyle and they make me uncomfortable. My first wedding I wore a matching silky tencel pant set that I've had for many years. It worked fine and I was comfortable. This upcoming wedding has more pressure as I'm the mother of the bride. I ordered a silk pantsuit that I know I will wear again. It's classic shape and navy. I have already received some flack for not buying a dress but I don't care.

Kudos to you for figuring this out before you hit 50! Lol! Love your channel!
